Guava Leaves

Guava leaves are the ideal supplement for freshwater shrimp and other aquarium invertebrates.
Guava has antibacterial properties against worms, infections, and bacteria that cause disease.
These leaves are 100% clean and untreated. Can be used like this in the aquarium

Guava is known for its antibacterial properties and is also a good, natural, food source for shrimp! When the Guava leaves are placed in the aquarium, a sticky biofilm will form on the leaves over time. This biofilm provides a food supply that is available 24/7. The leaves of the Guava plant are tougher and decay less quickly than Catappa leaves. Therefore, it is less often necessary to replace them.
We recommend using leaves of the Guava plant to prevent outbreaks of vibriosis in your aquarium. You will find that the natural tannins in these leaves slightly reduce the pH of the aquarium water. In addition, the tannins also help in the scaling (molting) of shrimp, ensure the maintenance of beautiful color and stimulate breeding.

Boil the leaves for 10 to 15 minutes, allow them to cool, and place them in the aquarium. The leaves will sink to the bottom fairly quickly after that. They (when dried) have an unlimited shelf life.
